November 2015. A high school senior by the name of Hugo Stetz suddenly realizes that the zenith of his high school career has arrived: college applications. He and his fellow seniors finally experience the mad rush to pick and apply to colleges - the future that they have vaguely fantasized about over the years has finally arrived.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, there are over 4,000 accredited institutions for postsecondary education in the United States. In the first months of their senior year, high school students across the nation are expected to confidently pick out from this massive number a handful of colleges that they will apply to - a decision that will affect the next four years of their lives and beyond.
Hugo Stetz had his own method for picking amongst the slough of college e-mails that he had started receiving from the start of Fall 2015, and from amongst the dozens of ranking systems that proclaimed various colleges as the best in their respective fields. He compiled every piece of college data he could into comprehensive spreadsheets, and was thereby able to easily compare college data and decide where he would apply and eventually enroll for the 2016 Fall semester.
Now he has offered his services to other high school students. Hugo Stetz has begun creating college spreadsheets for students, parents and educators that are now in the process of searching for the right college, providing them with college information organized in concise and comprehensive spreadsheets that leave no questions unanswered and provide the opportunity .
Shown above is an excerpt of a college spreadsheet for University of Colorado Boulder. The full spreadsheet, provided as a sample of the work that Hugo Stetz provides, can be downloaded below.
